VISX WaveScan WaveFront® System

The VISX WaveScan WaveFront® System allows our surgeon to customize each LASIK procedure with extreme precision. The system uses WavePrint® with CustomVue technology, which individualizes each treatment plan, leading to unparalleled surgical accuracy and exceptional vision correction for our patients.

WavePrint® Measurements

Like fingerprints, all eyes are unique — by taking precise measurements and generating a digital 3D “map” of your eyes, our surgeon is able to create a personalized treatment plan prior to your procedure. WavePrint® is a feature of the VISX WaveScan WaveFront® System that uses a unique tracking component called CustomVue. The technology behind CustomVue was initially developed as a way to enable astronomers to view outer space more clearly by correcting light wave distortions. With this advanced program, our surgeon can measure light waves that travel through the eye, helping him to record detailed calculations for customized treatment.

IntraLase® FS Laser System

Used for LASIK procedures, as well as advanced corneal surgery, the IntraLase® FS Laser allows our surgeons to gently and skillfully create a corneal flap without the use of a blade. Based on your custom 3D WavePrint® map, your surgeon will utilize the state-of-the-art laser system to create the corneal flap with the utmost degree of accuracy. This level of personalization helps to ensure the best possible outcomes, and can improve overall patient safety. Once the corneal flap has been made, it is folded back out of the way so your surgeon can complete your LASIK or corneal surgery.

VISX STAR S4 IR® Excimer Laser System with ActiveTrak

The VISX STAR S4 IR® Excimer Laser System’s exclusive Variable Spot Scanning (VSS) technology and Variable Repetition Rate (VRR) algorithm allow our surgeon to complete your LASIK surgery with the highest levels of efficiency, precision, and safety. Using the customized 3D digital map created with WavePrint® and CustomVue technology, this advanced laser system’s exceptionally accurate excimer laser gently reshapes the cornea for superior vision correction.

ActiveTrak Technology

Keeping the eye completely still during treatment has traditionally been essential for successful laser vision correction. However, even when a patient keeps their eye still, there can be microscopic involuntary movements that occur. ActiveTrak technology automatically tracks these movements and instantly adjusts treatment to ensure the most precise result possible.

Testimonials

The reason I had LASIK surgery is because vision is so important to my golf game. I could have traveled anywhere around the country and gone anywhere to have LASIK, but I did a lot of research and Dr. David Chaffin was the best in the area and I think he’s one of the best in the country. Thanks for everything Dr. Chaffin! Now I can see the putts drop.
