Dan Lyons, O.D., F.A.A.O. is the
Clinic Director at Nevada Eye Consultants
A native of Tampa, Florida, Dr. Dan Lyons was conferred the degree of Doctor of Optometry by the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, after earning his baccalaureate degree from the University of South Florida. He completed a residency in "Hospital-based Optometry" at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he received training in advanced medical management and diagnostic techniques.
Following his move to Reno, Nevada, Dr. Lyons served our Nation’s veterans for three years at the I. A. Lougaris VA Medical Center before joining Dr. Chaffin in the formation of Nevada Eye Consultants. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry in Advanced Care Medical Optometry (ACMO) and the treatment and management of ocular disease. His professional affiliations include the Optometric Council on Refractive Technology, the American Optometric Association, and he is currently president of Northern Nevada Optometric Society. Dr. Lyons often lectures to both optometrists and opticians.
Dan and his wife, Somer, are the proud parents of an infant daughter. Dan is a licensed private pilot and avid golfer.
